Award | Architecture MasterPrize

One of MRA’s newest sports and recreation projects, W Dock on Lake Austin, has been named a winner in the “Recreational Architecture” category of The Architecture MasterPrize (AMP). The international awards program recognizes the talents of those “who push boundaries and set new standards, who turn the ordinary into the truly extraordinary and inspire others, today and for generations to come.”

Perched in the shallow waters of Lake Austin like the egrets that frequent the lake shore, W Dock seeks to answer the question: what is the minimum number of elements needed to create a boat dock that is both structurally and aesthetically elegant? The answer is a light, economical structure that is greater than the sum of its parts.

The Architecture MasterPrize celebrates the very best in design excellence and innovation from the worlds of Architectural, Interior, and Landscape Design. The awards program is dedicated to showcasing and promoting exceptional talent, and the value of the art and science of architecture in enriching lives.

“The Winners of the Architecture MasterPrize are setting new benchmarks in architecture, interior and landscape design. The AMP is recognizing and awarding the talents of those who set new standards and inspire others, no matter the size of the company or project,” said Hossein Farmani, President of the AMP. “It is a huge achievement to be selected as one of the winners, even more so with the increasing number and high standard of entries that are being entered every year.”

A jury of esteemed architects, industry professionals and academics considered entries in 41 categories across the disciplines of architecture, interior design and landscape design. View the complete list of winners here.
