Complimenting the existing Hindu temple, the Chinmaya co-housing proposal provides communal living opportunities for the elder members of the temple community. Conceived as a series of repeatable interlocking units, the group form of the project frames a linear open space against the backdrop of the temple. Smaller communal spaces are created by alternating shared courts which weave through the mass of the units. Amenities include community gardens, a community center and a series of shaded exterior meditation paths through the site.
